Contemporary Visual Culture Lecturer Mary Ann Bolger is presenting at the Mise Éire? Shaping a Nation through Design Conference on 4 -5 November 2016 at the N ational Museum of Ireland . Mary Ann Bolger Mise Éire? Shaping a Nation through Design is a partnership project and part of the 2016 centenary programme of both bodies, will see design historians, academics and practitioners explore the expression of collective and national identity in Ireland through the lens of design and craft. The conference is aimed at design and craft historians and academics, practitioners, students and anyone with a general interest in design and collective and national identity. BA Contemporary Visual Culture Lecturers, Mary Ann Bolger and Clare Bell, have organized: Typography Ireland | Type Together | Typeface Design Workshop | Dublin 18–20 November 2016 Typography Ireland are delighted to announce the details of our second Type Together typeface design workshop to take place from 18th to 20th November 2016, organised by Typography Ireland in association with the Dublin School of Creative Arts, DIT and the Graduate School of Creative Arts and Media (GradCAM) . This workshop, led by internationally renowned Type Together typeface designers Veronika Burian (Type Together) and José Scaglione (President of ATypI, Type Together) will cover the essential aspects of the type-design process, including glyph-drawing, spacing, kerning techniques and multiple-master technology. Winners of the ISTD's Certificate of Excellence in Typeface Design, Veronika and José will lead intensive practical sessions, combined with open critiques and short lectures, creating

BA Contemporary Visual Culture Lecturer, EL Putnam, will be performing   Circuit at "Stance," a performance event organised by Justine McDonnell and Rachel Rankin at the Pollen Studios, Belfast, 3 November 6 to 9 pm. EL will also be presenting a paper, "“Neglect of Their Duties:” Feminist Maternal Ethics and the Irish Intimate Public Sphere" at the upcoming SWIP-Ireland conference “Feminist Ethics in Theory and Practice: Challenging practices in contested domains”, December 2-4, in Galway, Ireland.
