BA Contemporary Visual Culture Programme Chair, Niamh Ann Kelly, recently participated in the  public seminar, Artist as Witness – Migrations at Dublin City Gallery: The Hugh Lane, organised as part of Port Perspectives Programme, May 2017.
Guest speakers were: Erwin Joos, Dr Niamh Ann Kelly, Alaina Claire Feldman and Prof. Declan McGonagle.

Today, the BA Contemporary Visual Culture students welcome Wendy Williams, a design historian and graphic designer who specialises in exhibition design. Wendy has designed exhibitions for the National Museum of Ireland, the Pearse Museum and many others. Her latest role was as a curator of the Jacobs exhibition in City Hall. BA CVC Lecturer, Dr Tim Stott, to chair panel of speakers at the Society of Literature, Science and the Arts 30th Annual Meeting Atlanta, Georgia, 4 November 2016

Tim's panel is called  Weird  Systems and will examine the weirder aspects of cybernetics in post-war artistic and literary culture.
 The panel will consider what we might still learn from those occasions where systems become weird. The panel, chaired by Dr Tim Stott (Dublin Institute of Technology), will include the following papers:
Professor Bruce Clarke (Texas Tech University), ‘Cosmic Weirdness in John Lilly’s The Scientist: A Novel Autobiography’, Professor Philip Thurtle (University of Washington), ‘William Bateson’s Waves of Living Flesh’,
